As a member of Breast Cancer Action’s Board of Directors, I’m thrilled to be co-hosting our 3rd annual Acting Out – For the Health of It event. I’d love for you to join me!
3rd Annual Acting Out – For the Health of It
Tuesday, March 3, 2015
Presented at Brava Theater Center
2781 24th St, San Francisco, CA
6 – 7 pm VIP Reception (VIP tickets – $75)
7 – 9 pm Variety Show (General Admission – $35)
MUSIC: Local musicians Date Nite will be rocking out to entertaining and sultry electronic pop songs. I may be biased, since they’re good friends of mine, but they’re my favorite local band (and I go to a lot of shows). They were recently voted The Deli’s “SF Artist of the Month”!
DANCE: SoulForce Dance Company is a dynamic hip-hop dance company that brings together dancers of diverse backgrounds to create inspiring works on stage. I’ve been inspired by every one of their performances.
COMEDY: Your belly will hurt after comedian Dhaya Lakshminarayana takes the mic. Dhaya is a hilarious, thought-provoking, and self-professed “nerdy” stand-up comedian and storyteller. She’s been voted “Best Comedian” in the San Francisco Bay Guardian’s “Best of the Bay” readers’ poll.
And I’m thrilled that the fabulous Tania Katan is returning to the Brava stage to emcee the evening. When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, Tania’s award-winning book My One-Night Stand with Cancer was the first book I read.
If you can, join us for the VIP reception to meet the performers and enjoy delicious bites and the sounds of my favorite Samba-Rock group, Gringa.
This event is always a lot of fun. I hope you will join me and bring your friends – get your tickets today.
