25 Years of Putting Women’s Health First

Twenty-five years ago, three visionary women living with breast cancer met in a San Francisco Bay Area living room and founded Breast Cancer Action. With this simple action, these three extraordinary women launched a national grassroots movement. Thank you for being part of this powerful movement that is now 60,000 strong.

In honor of 25 years of education and activism, please help us expand and strengthen our grassroots movement by making a generous gift to Breast Cancer Action.

For the last two and a half decades, Breast Cancer Action has been the watchdog for the breast cancer movement. Thanks to your involvement, your loyalty, your generous support, we remain a powerful grassroots organization that puts the health of all women first, without compromise.

25th anniversary Gertie for WEBAnd over the last 25 years, your determination and commitment to our work has taken us far. Thanks to you, we’ve achieved many milestones:

  • Think Before You Pink® campaigns that expose corporate hypocrisy and profiteering;
  • Successfully challenging, with our partners, a corporate patent on the human BRCA1&2 genes (the “breast cancer genes”) so that today more women have access to their genetic information, at a fraction of the original cost;
  • Calling for true breast cancer prevention and working to stop cancer before it starts by working to ban fracking and other toxic exposures;
  • One-of-a-kind educational materials like our new screening brochure, which offers an alternative to the one-sided, industry-supported promotion of mammograms.

The overlap between breast cancer charities, corporate sponsors, and the pharmaceutical industry makes it hard to determine who is really driving the agenda. The need for Breast Cancer Action’s work to achieve health justice for all women at risk of and living with breast cancer has never been more urgent.

Please join us now by making a donation to Breast Cancer Action because all women deserve patient-centered, evidence-based information and the tools to take action to challenge the status quo.

We are able to fill this vital and unique role because we have a strict conflict of interest policy and never take corporate funding from the “cancer industry,” including pharmaceutical and chemical companies.

Our fierce independence means we depend on your donation.

Thanks to your support and generosity, BCAction continues to fiercely and unapologetically stand up for women living with and at risk of breast cancer. Thank you for helping change the course of the breast cancer epidemic.

And thank you, in advance, for your unwavering support of Breast Cancer Action. Your support is vital to our independence.
