“Don’t Pink for Me!”

Dont Pink for Me logoBreast Cancer Industry Month (aka October) is around the corner; soon store shelves will be loaded with pink ribbon products, from bread loaves to nail clippers.

Too often, pink ribbon promotions do more for corporations’ bottom line than women living with breast cancer. We hear from a lot of our members that they’re sick of this hypocrisy, and don’t want their friends and family to buy pink stuff for them – but they still want to do something.

That’s why we launched our “Don’t Pink for Me” fundraising platform, where members like you tell their friends and family, “Don’t Pink for Me!” and ask them to donate to Breast Cancer Action in their honor instead. It’s easy to set up a page – just click here to get started.

“I set up a page last year to honor my mother, Rosemary, who died of metastatic breast cancer in 2012. In the decade that preceded my mom’s death, my family had been very active and awash in “pink.” Watching my mother die from this disease, it became evident to all of us that raising awareness by hawking pink ribbons or products was not sufficient.
