Intern at BCAction
An internship at Breast Cancer Action provides an opportunity to learn more about the politics of breast cancer and take part in grassroots women’s health and environmental activism. All interns will work at BCA’s office in downtown San Francisco. Interns participate in the day-to-day operations of Breast Cancer Action and are directly supervised by a staff member who helps design and oversee intern projects.
Breast Cancer Action is seeking a summer intern for our Program department to assist with our three strategic priorities:
- Advocate for more effective and less toxic breast cancer treatments by shifting the balance of power in the Food and Drug Administration’s drug approval process away from the pharmaceutical industry and toward the public interest.
- Decrease involuntary environmental exposures that put people at risk for breast cancer.
- Create awareness that it’s not just genes, but social injustices — political, economic, and racial inequities — that lead to disparities in breast cancer outcomes.
