By Daniel Horn & Mike Kopicko, Breast Cancer Action donors
We’ve seen too many friends, colleagues, and loved ones receive a cancer diagnosis. We stand close by our loved ones and do what we can to help, but we often feel powerless against this terrible disease.
That’s why we support Breast Cancer Action: they work to stop breast cancer before it starts and advocate for women living with the disease.
For people like us who want to support our loved ones, it can seem easy to support “the cause:” just put on a color-coded ribbon or buy something with a color-coded lid during the cancer awareness program of the month.
But Julie, and Breast Cancer Action’s Think Before You Pink® campaign, taught us how little those pink ribbons and lids actually do to address breast cancer—and how some of those products actually increase women’s risk of breast cancer by adding carcinogens to the environment!
We support Breast Cancer Action because they are committed to a day when fewer women are diagnosed with breast cancer, when no community is disproportionately impacted by this devastating disease, and when all women have access to more effective, less toxic breast cancer treatments.
We want to address and end the breast cancer epidemic. That’s why we donate to Breast Cancer Action in honor of our friend Julie, as well as women everywhere living with this disease and in memory of those we have lost to cancer.
We hope you’ll join us in making a donation in honor or memory of someone you love so that Breast Cancer Action can continue their fearless work to end this terrible epidemic.
