2020 is a big year! It marks 30 years of Breast Cancer Action’s radical disruption and compassionate resistance.

Since our founding in 1990, we’ve worked to identify the root causes and dismantle the structures of the breast cancer epidemic. We’ve accomplished so much and achieved outsized wins, but there’s still more to do.

For 30 years, Breast Cancer Action has been leading the cancer resistance and today our work to connect the dots across issues has never been more important. We’ve changed how people think and talk about breast cancer. We’ve forced multibillion dollar corporations to clean up their acts. We’re a trusted resource for balanced treatment information. And for as long as it takes, we won’t rest until our lives and communities are not threatened by breast cancer.

In the year ahead, we’ll be honoring the work—and the wins—from the last thirty years. And we are inviting you join us in recommitting to the work that remains.

Here are some things you can do right now to help us kick off our 30th anniversary:

  • Organize a Facebook fundraiser to benefit Breast Cancer Action. You can create a fundraising page on our Facebook page, by clicking on the “Create” box toward the top of our page. You can do this for your birthday or anytime this year in recognition of our 30th
  • Share photos, memories, and other mementos from the past 30 years. To add highlights and help us commemorate Breast Cancer Action’s 30th anniversary, reach out to our Communications Manager, Connie Matthiessen: cmatthiessen@bcaction.org.
  • We’d also like to hear how our work has impacted you. How did you first get involved with Breast Cancer Action, and what parts of our work have been most meaningful to you? We’ll be gathering short testimonials from our members throughout the year, and we hope you’ll add your voice. (To find out more, contact Connie at cmatthiessen@bcaction.org).

Smashing the breast cancer industry isn’t easy and we’re going to need your help.

Thanks for all you do to demand health justice.
